ENews: October 7-11

Reminder: FUMP will be closed on Thursday and Friday, October 10 & 11  for Parent Teacher Conferences.  You may use this link for signing up for your time. PARENT CONFERENCE SIGN UP. We will be OPEN on Monday, October 14, although several elementary schools will be closed.

Our Annual Fund is underway. Check your child’s cubby for more information about our one and only fundraiser of the year.  Thanks to our families who have already donated!

This week, the children will enjoy Music with Ms Amanda.

In the coming weeks, we will receive a visit from The National Accreditation Commission for Early Childhood Programs (NAC). As a nationally accredited program, we have a full program inspection every three years. We are currently in the window for their visit between now and December.  Meeting new families is one of my favorite parts of my job.  Touring prospective parents around our program is always a pleasure.  One question that is frequently asked is “Are you accredited? I don’t really know what that means, but I know that I should ask.” [READ MORE…]

Meet our Teachers! Each week, we would like to introduce you to one of our teaching teams. We have an amazing group of early childhood educators and I am so proud of this group of warm, caring, funny and dedicated teachers. Read on to meet our Older Infant Team.

Ms. Adrian. Toddlers, Lead Teacher, 10 years.
About Ms. Adrian
I have been at FUMP since 2010 and worked with all age groups until I realized that toddlers were my absolute joy to work with. Their curiosity and development are always able to keep things fresh! As for myself, I was born in Florida but have been in Austin for over two decades now. I enjoy reading, writing, table top RPGs, and spending time in nature.

Ms. Janie. Toddlers Assistant Teacher, 5 years.
Hi there! My name is Janie. I am excited to be starting my fifth year with the outstanding group of early childhood educators. I have my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from LSU. I have 39 years of experience working with young children and families in church-housed programs. During that time, I was assistant director, nursery coordinator, and lead teacher. My home is Baton Rouge, La., but I have lived in Austin since 1983. I am married and have an amazing son and daughter-in-law. I am so thankful for my beautiful granddaughters. They are the joy of my life – Lily is two and Emersyn is 3 months. I enjoy cooking, working in my yard, collecting mid-century modern furniture – most of all, I love spending time with my granddaughters!! I look forward to spending my days with your child.
