Today is our Vision and Hearing Screening Day for children in Ms. Stacy and Ms. Erin’s classes. Please be sure to arrive by 9:15 so our screeners can get underway. Thank you! Also, thank you to our parent volunteers, Teresa Lwin and Joy Schranghammer, who are assisting us today.

Our FUMP garden space has been tidied up and look fantastic! Thank you to Teresa Lwin for her time last week to spruce up that area.
Our Annual Fund will kick off this week. You will receive a brochure about our Annual Fund in your child’s cubby. Read more about our ANNUAL FUND! The Annual Fund will be our single fundraiser of the year and cover ALL of FUMP’s needs: enrichment classes, field trips, classroom materials, teacher appreciation and Christmas Bonuses. Director’s Blog: What do we mean by positive guidance?
“Walking feet”, “inside voices”, “can you check on your friend?” Here just a few examples of the phrases that you hear in the hallways of FUMP. The teachers consistently use these phrases and many like them in their interactions with children. It is very rare to hear things like “no” or “don’t.” Why is that? | This will be my twelfth year teaching at FUMP. I have had several positive experiences with younger children since childhood and throughout my studies, but nothing compares to the years I have spent here. I am a lucky mother to a third grader. When we aren’t visiting our beloved family and friends, we enjoy spending our time cuddling at home watching TV or reading a good book. |

| This is my first year to teach at FUMP, although I was a frequent substitute last year. I’m excited to be working in such a great environment! I got my bachelor’s degree in Applied Learning and Development at UT in 2010. I decided to become a stay at home mom to my three children until this past year. My kids are now 6 (Yukon), 8 (Mary) and 10 (April). I enjoy knitting, singing, reading, camping and playing with children. |

| Ms. Frances has been teaching at FUMP for 3 years. She is working in two roles; as the Tuesday/Thursday teaching assistant with Ms. Rosa, along with being our floating teachers on Monday/Wednesday/Friday. That means she will be our first on call substitute when a teacher is absent, as well as being an extra set of hands for any classroom that needs assistance. |
